Investigators seek motive for deadly Army base shooting in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - Investigators planned to conduct scores of interviews on Wednesday to find out why a gunman fatally shot one person and then killed himself at a U.S. Army medical facility in El Paso, Texas. The veterans' clinic at William Beaumont Army Medical Center on the Fort Bliss Army post was closed on Wednesday, a day after the shooting. Officials from the FBI, which is leading an investigation into the incident, were not immediately available for comment and no information has been released on the two people killed. Douglas Lindquist, special agent in charge of the El Paso division of the FBI, told a news conference on Tuesday there were "hundreds of potential witnesses." He added that the agency planned to conduct a massive amount of interviews as they seek to uncover a motive for the shooting. (Reporting by Jon Herskovitz; Editing by Tom Brown)
