iOS 6 tethered jailbreak now available for developers

It will soon be legal to unlock your phone and move to another carrier

The good folks at the iPhone Dev Team are hard at work jailbreaking iOS 6 and now they’ve released a new jailbreak, dubbed “redsn0w 0.9.13dev1,” exclusively for jailbreak app developers. The iPhone Dev Team emphasizes that casual unlockers should not try using this jailbreak since they “will very likely lose” their “unlockable baseband” if they try to install iOS6. They also say that Cydia has yet to be updated for the iOS 6 software development kit and thus won’t be available on the developers-only jailbreak for the time being. “There are just too many broken components (Apple’s official apps, 3rd-party App Store apps, Cydia apps, etc) for this to be useful to anyone but those truly looking to fix bugs in their iOS 6 jailbroken apps,” the team writes on its official blog.
