Apple’s brand new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c launch in less than five days and industry watchers will do their best to gauge demand ahead of this weekend’s release. According to a report from Bloomberg on Monday morning, the first hard numbers are in: China Unicom, China’s second largest carrier, announced on its Sina Weibo account on Monday that it has taken more than 100,000 combined reservations for the iPhone 5s and 5c thus far. It’s worth noting that the carrier hasn’t even announced pricing plans for the new phones yet. Apple’s new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c both launch this Friday, September 20th. Apple made its iPhone 5c available for preorder in the U.S. last week, but its iPhone 5s is not available for preorder, leading to reports that supply will be extremely short at launch. Demand appears to be quite high though, and some are already lining up for the new iPhone models.
