iPhone 6′s curved glass screen shown on video for the first time ever

Here’s why giving the iPhone 7 a sapphire display could be pointless

Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6 and “iPhone Air” phablet won’t debut for another couple of months, but it seems like they have already existed since last year thanks to all of the leaks and rumors that have been bubbling up. We have seen iPhone 6 mockups based on supposed leaked schematics in photos and on video, we have read all about their specs, and we have heard about their new features. With recent reports suggesting that both models will enter the mass-production phase this month, however, we’re now getting to know Apple’s next-generation iPhones better than ever.

Internal components said to be from Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 leaked for the first time earlier this week, as did the supposed curved glass display covers from the 4.7-inch model. Now, for the first time ever, the aforementioned glass display covers have been captured on video.

FROM EARLIER: This might be the most important iPhone 6 leak yet

Chinese-language Apple fan blog ifanr on Thursday posted a video of a component said to be the glass display cover from Apple’s upcoming 4.7-inch iPhone 6. The blog showed the screen from several angles and also compared it to Apple’s iPhone 5s for scale.

Not much can be gleaned from the video in the way of new information, though we can once again see that the edges of the supposed new iPhone 6 display cover feature a slight downward curve. This curve is in line with reports dating back to last year, when Bloomberg reported that Apple’s next-generation iPhones would “feature larger displays with glass that curves downward at the edges.”

The video showing the supposed glass screen from Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 follows below.
