Israel Helped Train Those Motorcycling Assassins in Iran

U.S. officials are confirming what Iran (and lots of other observers) had always suspected: Israel is supporting those terrorists who have been taking out nuclear scientists in Iran. According to NBC News, the terrorist group People’s Mujahedin of Iran -- apparently known by many acronyms, including MEK -- were financed and trained by Israel to carry out the five assassinations against Iranian scientists. And from the details of NBC's report, Israel didn't take a hands-off approach: It's involvement included teaching terrorists how to carry out motorcycle bombing, like the action-movie-style one last month (above), and building a scale replica of one scientist's home for MEK members to use in training.

The bizarrely shifting loyalties of the People’s Mujahedin of Iran, run by a husband-wife team, makes NBC's report worth a read. Founded in 1965, it has killed American servicemen in the '70s and at various times worked with Saddam Hussein, Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini, and now Israel. After their latest actions, a cohort of U.S. politicians including Howard Dean and Rudy Giuliani are calling for the MEK to be taken off of the State Department's terrorists list.
