Jacob Soboroff Joins MSNBC As Correspondent

Jacob Soboroff, best known, perhaps, for his time as a host with upstart media outlets like Huffington Post Live and Pivot’s “Take Part Live,” has joined MSNBC as a correspondent.

He started with the NBCUniversal-owned network in September. His first story explored the dichotomy of San Francisco, which is home to many upscale technology companies, but also plagued by a homeless problem.

Soboroff was listed among the correspondents covering the aftermath of the shootings in Roseburg, Oregon on Friday.

A biography on Soboroff’s website lists other experience: hosting YouTube nation, a daily clip show produced by DreamWorks Animation, and sundry assignments for networks including MTV, AMC, NBC, CNN, PBS and NPR.

He joins as MSNBC is in the midst of a transformation, reshaping the bulk of its daytime schedule to focus more on breaking news rather than programs built around a particular agenda or perspective. The network’s primetime programming remains filled by shows anchored by opinionated hosts.
