Perfect Market CTO to advise group working on ways to impact media innovation and improve the news and information people use

Jay Budzik is chief technical officer at Perfect Market, where Jay’s work helps the company to increase engagement, traffic and revenue for more than 45 online publishers including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, The South Bend Tribune, Philly.com, and The Boston Globe. Budzik earned a Ph.D. in computer science at Northwestern. His work at the University led to the founding of Intellext, where he served as CTO. Jay also serves on the board of trustees of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), an internationally recognized teaching and learning laboratory.

The Knight News Innovation Lab is a joint initiative of Northwestern University’s Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Medill School of Journalism.
