Cape Town – Rapper Jay-Z will be performing in South Africa for three shows in October this year, according to Billboard.com.

The three SA dates were included in Jay-Z's word tour itinerary that also includes other African countries: Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria and Angola.

Following a Justin Bieber frenzy after his show in Cape Town on Wednesday evening, Twitter has since been abuzz with news that Jay-Z is coming to South Africa in October this year.

Announcing a seven-week Jay-Z tour to create awareness of the world's water crisis, Billboard revealed the rapper's SA dates as follows:

Friday 11 October, Cape Town, Bellville Velodrome
Sunday 13 October, Durban, ABSA Stadium Outer Fields
Monday 14 October, Johannesburg, Coca Cola Dome.
