Jensen Beach woman found dead in swimming pool; MCSO investigating
PALM CITY — The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 31-year-old woman whose body was discovered at the bottom of a swimming pool Monday.
Aja Morgan, of Jensen Beach, was found at about 6:40 a.m. in the deep end of the pool by a man described by deputies as her boyfriend after he awoke from sleep, according to a Sheriff’s Office report. The incident happened in the 1300 block of Southwest Estates Place.
The boyfriend was the last person to see Morgan alive, according to the report. Morgan was pronounced dead at about 7:30 a.m. by paramedics.

The man could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
Sgt. Brad Spencer on Tuesday characterized the death as a "tragic accident," but said the death is still being investigated while deputies await autopsy results.
“There were no signs of trauma to Ms. Morgan’s body at all," Spencer said.
The boyfriend told deputies Morgan, himself and two others had been drinking Sunday afternoon and evening on a boat, where Morgan was "very intoxicated," the report reads.
She appeared to be sobering up when they returned to the home at about 6 p.m., but Morgan began drinking again during dinner, Spencer said.
The two friends went to sleep at about 2 a.m. while the man and Morgan stayed in the pool drinking alcoholic beverages.
The man fell asleep near the stairs to the pool at about 3:30 a.m. and woke up at about 6:40 a.m. still in the pool, the report reads. He did not discover Morgan’s body until after he called her phone, checked a bedroom and then looked for her car, which was still at the home.
He told deputies he didn't attempt to pull her out of the pool because she was not moving and appeared to be dead, according to the report.
He has cooperated with deputies during the investigation, Spencer said. No arrests have been made in the case.
