Clarkson, Hammond And May ‘Almost Dropped A Priceless Audi’ During Live Tour Run

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have been reminiscing about some of the scrapes they’ve had in the past in a new teaser for their last ever live tour dates.

They end their run at London’s O2 this weekend.

Recalling one incident with a Le Mans winning car from Audi, Richard explained: “Audi had said ‘yes, you can have, for your show, a Le Mans winning car, the value of which is priceless’, and [we were like] ‘wow, we must display this for our audience to see’.

“It was put on a sort of platform thing and hoisted up on chains, so it was up there in the sky, right up above the stage, and all of a sudden, everybody started running about.

“One of us stuck our head around the curtains and looked up and one of the chains had broken supporting the Audi.”

Oops.

Jeremy described the car as being ‘upside down’ and ‘swinging’, with Richard continuing: “What we were particularly enjoying was whoever was going to make the call, how they were going to call Audi and say ‘we’ve wrecked your car’. ‘What did you do? Crash it?’ ‘No, we dropped it’.”

We would NOT have liked to have been the person responsible for that call.

They went on to recall an incident with a Saab and one involving a monster’s broken arm. Amazing.

Speaking about finishing their live shows in London, Jeremy said: “It has been an enormous laugh all around the world, we’ve virtually wiped ourselves out. We’re looking forward to finishing off in London town.”
