    The New Jersey criminal defense law firm of Arseneault, Whipple, Fassett & Azzarello, LLP is pleased to announce that partner John C. Whipple was recently nominated a Trustee of the Association of the Federal Bar of NJ. Mr. Whipple has been practicing law in the federal courts of NJ and elsewhere since 1985. He is honored to become a Trustee of New Jersey’s premier federal bar association.

    John C. Whipple has 30 years of experience and was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1982. He is a seasoned and well-regarded trial attorney. Before founding AWFA, Mr. Whipple managed the Whipple Law Firm, P.C., which he opened on January 1, 1998, after ten years of practice with his previous firm, Whipple, Ross & Hirsh, P.A, and six years of public service. Mr. Whipple has been Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Criminal Trial Attorney since 1988. Over the past 30 years, he has developed his skills and reputation in the state and federal courts. Clients are referred to him not only by attorneys who do not practice criminal law, but also by professional colleagues with criminal experience.

    After several years as a Trustee of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, Mr. Whipple was elected President and led the organization in 2008 and 2009. He also co-chairs the Lawyers’ Assistance Committee, which focuses on representation of criminal defense attorneys in difficult situations with judges and overzealous prosecutors. In 2003, he was elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Mr. Whipple received the Professionalism Award from the N.J. State Bar Foundation in 2009.

    The Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey is the preeminent bar association in NJ for attorneys who practice before the federal courts in the state. They serve as a resource for the court and provide opportunities for federal practitioners to work with federal judges and the court on issues of mutual interest. Each year, the Association sponsors the United States District Court Conference, the presentation of the William J. Brennan, Jr. Award to outstanding jurists and lawyers, educational seminars, and pursues issues of interest to federal practitioners and the federal courts. They also present John J. Barry Memorial Scholarships to recipients from New Jersey law schools, including Rutgers, the State University of NJ School of Law and Seton Hall University School of Law.
