Jodie Foster: Former Panic Room Co-Star Kristen Stewart Is Like My 'Daughter'

Veteran actress Jodie Foster had a new experience this week, sandwiched between throngs of screaming fans at her very first Comic-Con as she promoted "Elysium" with Matt Damon.

In hindsight, Jodie says she should've given her former "Panic Room" co-star Kristen Stewart a ring to get some tips on how to deal with the excited crowds - especially since the "Twilight Saga" star has been to five Comic-Cons to date.

"[Kristen] really should've given me some tips," Jodie told Access Hollywood's Scott Mantz with a laugh, at the convention in San Diego. "She's doing great. I just saw 'Snow White and the Huntsman,' which I thought was extraordinary and I thought she was absolutely brilliant in."

The "Breaking Dawn" beauty, now 22, was just 12 years old when she played Jodie's on-screen daughter back in 2002, and Jodie said she's watched Kristen's career grow with a bit of maternal pride.

"I'm proud of her," she said. "I feel like she's my daughter too!"

As for her own projects, Jodie will soon be seen on big screens as Secretary Rhodes in "District 9" director Neill Blomkamp's latest film, "Elysium."

Like "District 9," Jodie said "Elysium" is ripe with thought-provoking allegories, but full of action.

"It has a lot of socio-political commentary, and yet, [Neill] likes guns too and like blowing things up and shooting people, so that figures into it heavily as well," she said. "But it's thoughtful. It's a thoughtful movie that's on a huge scale and yet it talks about really small things too."

"Elysium" is slated for theatrical release on March 1, 2013.

By Iain Rogers MADRID, May 18 (Reuters) - Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho were sifting through the debris of what the Portuguese coach termed a "disastrous" 2012-13 campaign after Friday's King's Cup final defeat left the world's richest club without a major trophy for the season.
