John Boyega Celebrates at BAFTAs Before Jumping Back into Star Wars: Episode VIII: 'I've Got a 6 a.m. Pickup Tomorrow!'

Get ready, because Star Wars: Episode VIII has officially started filming.

John Boyega revealed that he's already back to work on the next Star Wars film.

"I start tomorrow," he said while walking the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards on Sunday night.

And it turns out, the actor, 23, might be swinging lightsabers before the sun even comes up.

"I've got a 6 a.m. pickup tomorrow!" he added.

And while little is known about the next installment in the beloved franchise, fans can count on one thing: The vision of a new director.

Looper helmer Rian Johnson will take over from J.J. Abrams heading into the next outing, and it's a move Boyega said he has a lot of faith in.

"Rian has my heart already," he said. "He's fantastic and he definitely deserves to take the helm after the great J.J. Abrams. So it's going to be fantastic."

The Force Awakens is up for several awards at this year's ceremony. It received a nod for best production design, best original music, best sound, and best achievement in special visual effects.

Boyega has also received rave reviews as as a stormtrooper-turned-hero. But the actor said despite his rise to fame, he's still living a rather ordinary life.

"It has changed but I still have the separation between the Star Wars world and home, so I guess I'm lucky," he said. "It is a healthy balance."

"I went to Waitrose this morning and I bought a Belgian bun and nobody bothered me, it was fantastic," he added.
