Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman sign wrong words in Paul McCartney music video

The new music video for Paul McCartney’s “My Valentine” shows actors Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman signing along with the lyrics, but signing experts say some of the translations were not quite right.

ABC News reports that Portman’s attempt to sign the word “appear” actually translates to “tampon” and Depp’s sign for “valentine” turned out to be “enemy,” making the song say “My enemy” instead.

The British Deaf Association said that even though the signs weren’t completely right, it’s still a great way to raise awareness of sign language.

“It would have been nice if genuine deaf people had been used,” a spokesman said, “but it’s still great.”
