Johnson Controls raises dividend to 19 cents

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Auto parts and building equipment maker Johnson Controls Inc. on Wednesday raised its quarterly dividend to 19 cents from 18 cents.

The move increases Johnson Controls' dividend by 5.6 percent. The dividend is payable Dec. 28 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 7.

Johnson Controls said it raised its dividend because of its financial performance and continued growth.

The company said it usually pays its fourth-quarter dividend in January, but it will pay that dividend in December this year because of possible changes to tax laws.
