Jon Stewart Says Farewell to Weinergate

Last night, after wringing one more decent segment out of Dick Cheney as Darth Vader, Jon Stewart returned to Weinergate again. On Tuesday, New York's ninth congressional district voted in a Republican, Bob Turner, to occupy Anthony Weiner's seat. It was the first time in 88 years that the GOP had won the district. And Stewart didn't seem too surprised: he spent the next few minutes pointing out that Democrat David Weprin was a "weak" candidate that had little backing. (Former New York mayor Ed Koch even robocalled for Turner, he notes.) Which was all build-up for one last joke about Weiner, his former roommate: "The Great Depression couldn't wrest the seat from their hands, World War II, the Red Scare, even the Reagan Revolution, the only thing powerful enough to drive a wedge between the Democratic party and their constituents..."
