Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart wants to save CNN from making a joke of itself for $10 billion.

Stewart announced Tuesday night the launch of a $10-billion crowd funding campaign to buy CNN out from under 21st Century Fox’s Rupert Murdoch, who tried to buy CNN parent company Time Warner Inc. for $80 billion last week.

“CNN, America’s first 24-hour cable news network, has been terrible for many, many years,” LetsBuyCNN.com reads. “Does it have to be that way? Who knows, maybe it does. So let’s find out for ourselves!”

The website mimics a Kickstarter page, but doesn’t actually let visitors contribute.

According to the page, donating $5 million to the cause will get you a 24-hour two-week investigative report to find your lost car keys, and a contribution of $1 billion would allow you to host a CNN anchor in a Hunger Games-esque fight to the death.

“It’s a lot of money for anyone, but not a lot of money for everyone,” Stewart said.

The page does not appear on Kickstarter’s official website.
