AMMAN, Jordan (AP) — Jordanian police say a gunman has been killed and 16 others, including 12 policemen, have been wounded in an armed attack on a police station.

A police statement said an unspecified number of gunmen stormed into the police station in northern Jordan late Wednesday.

A police official says the gunmen took advantage of the protest over the price hikes that have swept the country over the past day.
