JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon Has Cancer

Jamie Dimon, the chief executive officer of JPMorgan Chase, has been diagnosed with throat cancer. Dimon announced his condition via email to the bank's employees and shareholders on Tuesday.

Dimon's condition is curable, as doctors determined it has not spread beyond the original location. At this time, he has no plans to step down from his role as CEO. He also assured employees and shareholders that doctors gave him an "excellent" prognosis.

The treatment for Dimon's throat cancer should take roughly eight weeks. He does not plan to step down during this time, and will remain "immersed in the day-to-day operations of the bank."
