Judge rules in NY Mets' favor in hot dog dispute

NEW YORK (AP) — A federal judge has ruled in favor of the New York Mets in a ballpark dispute over kosher hot dogs.

Kosher Sports Inc. had sued the Queens Ballpark Company, the team subsidiary that operates Citi Field, in 2010. The food vendor claimed the team violated a 2008 contract by preventing it from selling kosher hot dogs on Friday nights and Saturdays. The company also accused the Mets of failing to provide enough vending stations at the Queens ballpark.

U.S. District Judge Jack B. Weinstein in Brooklyn said Tuesday the contract did not give Kosher Sports the right to sell hot dogs and other foods at every Mets game.

The judge also said the vendor defaulted on part of its 2010 payment of $55,000 and may have to pay damages.

Two rabbis have just arrived in USA by boat and one says to the other, "I hear that the people in this country actually eat dogs." "Odd," his companion replies, "but if we shall live in America, we might as well do as the Americans do." Nodding emphatically, the head rabbi points to a hot dog vendor and they both walk towards the cart. "Two dogs, please," says one. The vendor is only too pleased to oblige and he wraps both hot dogs in foil and hands them over the counter. Excited, the rabbis hurry over to a bench and begin to unwrap their "dogs."
The head rabbi is first to open his. He begins to blush and then, staring at it for a moment, leans over to the other rabbi and whispers cautiously: "What part did you get?

If you're really Kosher, you're not supposed to handle money or drive in a car / train / bus from sunset Friday to sundown Saturday - so, unless the hot dogs were being handed out for free and the patrons walked to the ballpark, none of this is kosher anyway.

This story doesn't sound kosher at all. I see a story about a religion trying to fleece a company for money after being unable to jewthemdown on weenie policy?
REAL Kosher Jews don't go to ballgames or anything much else on Friday and Saturday nights..These jews must be the KINO Jews....Kosher In Name Only?
    • Eric  •  3 mths ago
God knows there are never enough vending stations at any ballpark.
As for kosher dogs: yeah, I'll taken 'em anytime - a much better quality of beef and no mystery meat (like pig butts and chicken tongues).

It is amazing what the courts have to deal with. Our country is in dire straits and New York is worried about selling hot dogs at baseball games.

We have Obama's high unemployment, the looney left's anti-American racist rhetoric/agenda, and this is what our courts have to deal with?
