Judy Garland's Kids Will Honor 'The Wizard of Oz' at the Oscars

Judy Garland's Kids Will Honor 'The Wizard of Oz' at the Oscars

The Oscars have a planned tribute to The Wizard of Oz, and now there's some hints as to just what that will entail. Scott Feinberg of The Hollywood Reporter reports that Judy Garland's children—Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft, and Joey Luft—will appear at the telecast to honor the film and their mother.

The Oz-themed tribute at the ceremony is on the occasion of the film's 75th anniversary. For what it's worth, it's a lot of great movies' 75th anniversary—1939 was Hollywood's "greatest year." Still, The Wizard of Oz fits into the ceremony's "heroes" theme. (Though arguably so would Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, also a 1939 film.)

Feinberg reports that the "specifics of what the commemoration will entail have not yet been locked down."

So we guess that's not what Pink or Bette are up to. Or maybe that's what they are up to! The Garland children on stage while Pink does an aerial performance dressed as Dorothy and Midler croons "Over the Rainbow."
