    Department of Justice Anniversary

The names of all previous attorneys general are not as familiar to the American public as the names of former presidents. Yet, there they are, in full color portraits, on the Department of Justice website. These are the men (and one woman, Janet Reno) who took on the mission of the DOJ to "enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans."

Judiciary Act of 1789 created the office of the attorney general. The AG was a member of the president's Cabinet but had his own department. Congress established the Department of Justice on June 22, 1870. "The Act gave the Department control over all criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits in which the U.S. had an interest. In addition, the Act gave the attorney general and the department control over federal law enforcement," according to the DOJ.

    Stupid Guy Thing Day

The Wellcat people have a wicked sense of humor, don't they? They created this gem of a holiday that is sure to create controversy at the water cooler, during Happy Hour or at the dinner table. Wellcat says, "Women are always talking about it so here's the day to commemorate it. Women everywhere are to make a list of 'stupid guy things' and pass it on." Forrest Gump 's mother always said, "Stupid is as stupid does."

    Chocolate Eclair Day

The chocolate eclair are filled with mystery, and with vanilla pastry cream. Sometimes they're filled with vanilla pudding. The long tube of pastry is filled and then topped with a thick layer of chocolate. The eclair's origin is unknown and they are another fine example of how food evolves. "There is some conjecture that perhaps Antonin Careme (1784-1833), a famous pastry chef for French royalty might have created something akin to eclairs," according to according to Food Timeline.

    * Make your own eclairs at home.

    * Share the flavors of the eclair by making a chocolate eclair cake.

Ultimately, many of the photos and cellphone records of Trayvon Martin released online Thursday by George Zimmerman’s defense attorneys – indicating that the slain teenager smoked marijuana, got into fights at school, and had an interest in, and perhaps access to, guns – may be ruled inadmissible in court.
