Kanye West Accidentally Calls Caitlyn Jenner ‘Bruce’: ‘Sorry, That’s Disrespectful’

Kanye West has proven that at least a teeny tiny part of him is human, after being left noticeably embarrassed after accidentally referring to Caitlyn Jenner as ‘Bruce’, the star’s name prior to her transition, during a live interview.

D’oh.

Despite the fact that some of the things he said left us raising an eyebrow or two, namely that he claimed he was discriminated against for not being gay, the star handled the potentially awkward moment like a pro.

When Kanye was speaking about his wife, Kim Kardashian’s, step-father, U.S. journalist, Aaron Morrison, tweeted the rapper as saying: “Kanye just called #CaitlynJenner ‘Bruce.’

“Then said: ‘Oops, I’m sorry. It’s disrespectful to use that name’ … ‘still getting used’ to it.”

Fair enough, babes, at least you acknowledged the fact that the mishap is disrespectful.

It has also been reported that Kanye praised having Caitlyn as a “father-in-law”, explaining to the audience: “I feel proud to be in a family that is breaking ground for generations to come.”

During the talk Kanye discussed a whole host of topics, including how his two-year-old daughter, North West, encouraged him to “change the way he rapped”, the fact that his unborn son doesn’t currently have a name yet, and that he “loves older white men”.

(No, we don’t know either.)

However, arguably our fave piece of Yeezus wisdom was this little nugget of pure solid gold, with the 38-year-old rapper earnestly sharing to his fans: “People who misunderstand me really misunderstand themselves.”

And on that note, guys, we’re going to leave you to feel #Inspired.
