Kanye West ‘Wanted’ By MTV To Host The 2016 VMAs

Forget your average presidential campaign, because it looks like Kanye West could start his 2020 presidency bid by hosting the 2016 MTV VMAs.

We mean, can we just take a second to imagine a world where Kanye is a world leader and Kim Kardashian is the first lady, please? Because it sounds AMAZING.

According to TMZ, MTV bosses were so impressed with Yeezy and his 12-minute-long speech that they’re considering hiring him to be their 2016 Video Music Awards host.

No word on whether they’re hoping he’ll host wearing a belt around his pecs, a beaded curtain around his derriere and a visor on his bonce.

VMA souces have told TMZ that MTV were so ‘thrilled’ with his preaching that hosting next year’s show is ‘on the table’.

In fact, the site has been told that Kanye was only actually given two minutes for his acceptance speech originally. HOWEVER, people in the control room ‘were told to stand down’ and let him continue because of how entertaining he was.

One of the big bosses at MTV even apparently followed him back to his dressing room afterwards to ‘gush’ about how awesome his speech was.

Amazing.

We are very much on board for Kanye being the big 2016 host, although someone MAY need to keep an eye on his timings, otherwise we could end up with just three hours of his voice and no awards. Or performances. Or people being awake at the end.

If you didn’t catch his incredible acceptance speech at the awards (err, where have you been?), he started by speaking about THAT 2009 moment when he interrupted T-Swiz’s acceptance speech.

Apologising, he said: “The contradiction is that I do fight for artists but in that fight, somehow, was disrespectful to artists.”

He went on to admit that he had smoked something before the show, before finishing by announcing his candidacy for president in 2020.

Oh, and he also dissed awards shows, adding: “I still don’t understand award shows.

“I don’t understand how they get five people who work their entire life, one that sold records, sold concert tickets, to come stand on a carpet, and for the first time in their life be judged on a chopping block and have the opportunity to be considered a loser. I don’t understand it bro. I don’t understand when the biggest album or the biggest video I don’t understand.”

Bravo, Kanye. Oh, and MTV - We’re gonna let you finish, but Kanye could be the best VMAs host of all time. Jus’ saying.
