    Consonus Redesigns Network to Optimize Existing Environment and Deliver Enhanced Security

    Cary, North Carolina (PRWEB) February 14, 2012

    Consonus has completed a network redesign and implementation for Kaplan Early Learning Company, a leading international provider of educational products and services. Challenged with a flat Layer 2 LAN that was unable to prioritize data traffic, the Consonus Professional Services team architected the network infrastructure to provide Kaplan Early Learning with high-availability, improved manageability, and optimal security.

    “Like many IT organizations, we juggle multiple projects concurrently and several critical initiatives were contingent on enabling VLANs and QoS on our network,” said Security Network Manager for Kaplan Early Learning Company Elvis Salgado. “The technical engineer assigned to us was very knowledgeable, professional and went above and beyond the call of duty. The project coordination and technical resources made this a true success!”

    The new IP-optimized network infrastructure maximizes existing IT investments and provides VLANs and QoS prioritization for Voice over IP (VoIP) – a requirement to fulfilling Kaplan Early Learning Company’s strategic growth initiatives. By enabling the existing network technology with Layer 3 IP-enabled features Consonus was able to improve operational efficiency while giving Kaplan Early Learning peace of mind that their critical applications were secure and protected.
