Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx: Rumors of secret romance continue to swirl

Are Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx secretly dating?

Speculation about a secret romance has surrounded the Hollywood stars for quite some time.

On Wednesday, however, US Weekly released a photo of Holmes, 36, and Foxx, 47, from February that is proof enough for some to say that they’ve been dating undercover — it shows the actors holding hands and apparently playing footsie.

TMZ and People magazine have also reported on some sort of relationship between them.

Sources with the inside scoop apparently told People magazine that the actors have been spending a lot of time together but that nothing serious has been established yet.

“This is not some intense romance,” a source told the gossip magazine. “Jamie and Katie are friends and have been for a long time. They are two adults who are attractive and single, and so apparently conclusions will be drawn.”

Gossip Cop, a site dedicated to debunking false celebrity news, has repeatedly shot down rumors about a possible romance when reports appear in the tabloids.

On Tuesday, before the photo emerged, Gossip Cop said, “There is NOTHING romantic going on between Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx, despite a new round of rumors linking the two friends.”

According to US Weekly, Foxx apparently wooed Holmes during a benefit in 2013 in the Hamptons on Long Island, N.Y.

“Jamie is someone she can trust and have fun with,” a mutual friend told the entertainment magazine. “She's getting everything from Jamie that she didn’t get with Tom.”

Holmes has an 8-year-old daughter, Suri, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, who starred in the critically acclaimed 2004 film “Collateral” with Foxx.
