    Katie Holmes Speaks Out For First Time Since Split With Tom Cruise

    Katie Holmes has reportedly broken her silence since announcing her split from Tom Cruise.

    The soon-to-be-single actress was photographed on Wednesday at a Whole Foods grocery store in New York City by the New York Daily News, where she reportedly spoke out for the first time since going public with her divorce from the actor.

    "I'm alright," the 33-year-old actress reportedly said, as she pushed a shopping cart with daughter Suri in it. "Thank you."

    The smiling actress was reportedly stocking up on holiday food with ground beef, hamburger buns and fresh fruit seen in her cart.

    On Tuesday night, Katie looked cheerful as she took Suri out for ice cream.

    The star and her little one were spotted at Sundaes and Cones in the East Village, flanked by a team of bodyguards. Katie was all smiles while they enjoyed a cool treat on a warm night in the city.

    The outing took place on Tom's 50th birthday.

    According to People, the "Rock of Ages" star was supposed to spend the special day in the Big Apple with Katie and his daughter, but instead, he headed to Los Angeles to be with his teenage kids, Connor, 17, and Bella, 19.

    As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Katie was seen on Monday, leaving a taping of "Project Runway: All Stars" in New York City -- without her wedding ring.

    The outing marks the second time Katie has been photographed in public since news of her impending divorce from the box office superstar broke on Friday.

    The actress is reportedly seeking full custody of the couple's daughter.
