Keegan-Michael Key is starting off the new year a single man. The Key and Peele star has filed for divorce from his wife of 17 years, Cynthia Blaise.

Key filed on New Year’s Eve and listed the couple’s separation date as November 2015, according to People. Key and Blaise, who works as an actress and dialect coach, were married in December 1998.

Blaise made several appearances on Key and Peele, the Comedy Central sketch show created by Key and his partner, Jordan Peele, which ended after five seasons last year. She also worked as a dialect coach on Cameron Diaz’s Bad Teacher and with Mekhi Phifer on the set of 8 Mile.

Key and Blaise have no children together; he is reportedly asking the court to wait until a later date to address the issue of spousal support. Key cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce.

Ironically, over the holidays, Jordan Peele, Key’s comedy partner, got engaged for the first time, to fellow comedian Chelsea Peretti.
