Kevin James Returns to CBS as Star of New Family Comedy

King of Queens‘ Kevin James is returning to CBS in a new family comedy that has snagged a 13-episode commitment from the network, TVLine has confirmed.

The sitcom, which will debut during the 2016-17 season, finds James playing a retired cop looking forward to spending more quality time with his wife and three kids, only to discover he faces a tougher time at home than he did on the streets.

In addition to starring, James will write and serve as an exec producer alongside fellow King Of Queens EP Rock Reuben. Sitcom vet Bruce Helford will serve as showrunner.
