Key iPhone 6s upgrade tipped to improve voice calls and video recordings

Many secrets about Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices have already been spilled, albeit unofficially, but a new detail just emerged from a different report. The new iPhones will reportedly offer users an even better calling experience, as well as better video recording all thanks to something that looks like a minor upgrade from last year’s models.

RBC Capital Markets said in a new report seen by AppleInsider that the new iPhone 6s will feature more microphones than the iPhone 6 to improve voice quality in calls and recordings.

A recent patent describing noise cancellation technology for wireless headphones showed that Apple has been working on technology that incorporates additional microphones to improve sound quality. The patent is clearly suggesting that Apple is looking at ways of further improving call quality on the iPhone when headphones are used.

Analyst Amit Daryanani also said the new iPhones will feature a faster A9 processor, 2GB of RAM, 12-megapixel rear camera, Force Touch support, a 7000 series aluminum body and a new rose gold color option. That’s essentially what most iPhone 6s rumors are claiming these days.

“We think new casings material, better camera, and Force Touch integration will be the key standouts from a product perspective,” he said.

The analyst also said he expects the Apple TV to be priced at $99 or higher, and that he doesn’t expect Apple to debut a subscription streaming video service next week. According to the RBC analyst, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro isn’t in the cards either for next week.
