Eastman Kodak elects Tembec Chairman James Continenza to its board of directors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) -- Eastman Kodak Co. said Tuesday that it elected James Continenza to its board of directors.

The photography pioneer said he has important experience with companies that have successfully emerged from corporate restructuring. Eastman Kodak filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January 2012 and hopes to emerge from court protection this summer.

Continenza is the chairman of the board of wood and paper products maker Tembec Corp.

Eastman Kodak was once the dominant supplier of photographic materials in the U.S., but couldn't make a smooth transition to the world of digital imaging. The company is trying to remake itself as a provider of commercial imaging products and services.
