    KURE Pain Management Welcomes National Pain Expert to the MidAtlantic Region

    Kure Pain Management welcomes national pain expert, Doris K. Cope, M.D. Kure is one of the leading pain specialists in the MidAtlantic region with multiple locations throughout Maryland and Washington D.C. Cope joins Kure from the University of Pittsburg where she was the Director of the Interprofessional Program on Pain.

Cope, M.D., board certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist. “Doris is one of the leading authorities on pain management in the country and highly sought after for national interviews and lectures,” says Margaret Rose Evans, Director of Sales and Marketing for KURE. “She is a true gem in the world of pain management and we are fortunate she has chosen to join our team of pain management professionals.”

    Dr. Cope comes from the University of Pittsburgh Interprofessional Program on Pain, where she was the Director. Cope will join Paul W. Davies MD and his staff at KURE Pain Management to continue to provide a high level of care and understanding to patients with chronic pain. The University of Pittsburgh has one of the largest pain management fellowships in the country. Dr. Cope’s expertise and leadership played a key role into growing it to the size it is today.

    KURE Pain Management is one of the region’s largest and most comprehensive pain practices. KURE has multiple locations throughout Maryland and Washington D.C. Taking a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, KURE is home to some of the most highly trained doctors, physical therapists and other specialists.

    Dr. Cope earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her residency at the University of South Alabama. She was most recently the Vice Chairman of Pain Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and served as Chief of UPMC Health System Division of Pain Medicine. She has earned many achievements throughout her career including being recognized among the “Best Doctors in America” every year since 1998, a Lifetime Membership in the Academy of Anesthesiology and 2010-present Top Doctor honors.

    Dr. Cope’s addition will further promote that KURE Pain Management is the area’s leading authority on pain management.
