Ky. receives annual tobacco settlement payment

Kentucky receives $101 million this week in annual tobacco settlement funding

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Attorney General Jack Conway says Kentucky has received its annual tobacco settlement payment.

Conway said in a statement that the state received $101 million in funds this week as required under the 1998 Master Settlement Agreement between tobacco companies and states.

Conway says the money provides funding for "invaluable programs" in the state ranging from education to agriculture.

It is the 15th year the state has received a payment from the agreement.
