    LA trustees rename school 'Carlos Santana Academy'

    LOS ANGELES (AP) — Guitarist Carlos Santana has earned a long list of accolades in his four-decades-long career, but now he can add a new one — a Los Angeles school named in his honor.

    The LA Unified school board on Tuesday approved the name "Carlos Santana Arts Academy" for what has been called Valley Region Elementary School No. 12 in the San Fernando Valley.

    The board says the Mexican-born guitarist is a compelling role model for students both for his longstanding musical achievements and for philanthropy with his Milagro Foundation, which works to provide education and health care for children.

    In a letter, Santana thanked the district and said he was deeply honored.

    Santana, who grew up in San Francisco, has won many awards, including 10 Grammys and three Latin Grammys.

      Good idea...now he will feel guilty and feel the need to contribute lots of $ to the school or look like a jerk. Hmmm....any ideas of what we could name to help our economy and shame (if that is possible) the republi"cons" and those corporations called "people"to part with some of their illegally made and grotesque amounts of wealth they have acquired either from their daddies, on the backs of our soldiers and fictitious wars Bush and Cheney contrived and other newly proprosed ideas at the republicCONS at the secret meeting OUT WEST LAST WEEK IN THE DESERT (with noise and interference broadcast from all angles of the location) to keep the contents and guest list (s.court judges and republicOn presidential hopefuls, Coke bros) THIS, MY FRIENDS, IS WHAT "LESS GOVERNMENT" WILL LOOK LIKE if we let these fools get more power and continually more money. It is already a hard battle because money is powerful and easy to use to sway and hypnotize the masses. Back to my original question...how can we trick and shame the rich and powerful by naming something after them? Is it a possibility? Education HAS to be one of THE TOP PRIORITIES in our mess or we will fail and the republiCONS will have their way with the masses (check out the secret meeting in the desert's agenda).

      Isn't this the same Carlos Santana that a couple of months ago said that American's are racists? Nice move LA School Board. The Reconquista is complete. Let's see what you do with it in about 10 years or so.
