US Department of Labor scheduled to discuss rules, regulations with South Carolina farmers

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Farmers and growers in South Carolina are slated to get some instruction on the state's labor rules and regulations.

The state Department of Agriculture says representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor are going to be on hand Tuesday during a spring growers meeting at the State Farmers Market.

Organizers say the federal officials will be discussing topics that are important to farmers and growers and the operations that they run.

The meeting is open to all growers, labor industry professionals and agribusiness industry representatives, and the session includes time for questions and answers.
