Labour retains Salford City Council

Labour has retained control of Salford City Council.

The party lost one seat to the Liberal Democrats in the Quays Ward.

Jonathan Moore squeezed past Labour's Liz McCoy to poll 794, which gave him a 38-vote majority in the ward.

But Labour won a seat from the Conservatives in Worsley, with James Prady polling 1,556 to Conservative Leiws Ormston's 1,201.

The council was the last English Council to declare its results.
