You can add the word "tough" to the list of adjectives that describe pop queen Lady Gaga. Proving that the show must go on no matter what, the singer continued to perform at her New Zealand concert despite suffering a concussion in the middle of the show. She sustained the injury after being accidentally thumped in the head with a metal pole that was being used by a backup dancer. "I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion but don't you worry I will finish this show," she said while addressing the crowd after the blow. Musicians are injured during concerts more often than you might think. Here are a few other singing stars that suffered injuries while performing for their fans.
Less than two weeks before Lady Gaga took her blow to the head, the popular teen idol suffered a concussion while performing in Paris. The Canadian singer bumped his head into a glass wall while walking backstage between songs. After finishing the set, Biebs passed out in his dressing room before being diagnosed with the head injury. Like Lady Gaga, Justin let his fans know that he was too tough for this setback. He tweeted "im Canadian. we are tough. lol. its all good. just gotta take it easy the rest of the night. back at it again for u guys tomorrow."
In 2010, the "Just Like a Pill" singer attempted a stunt during a show in Germany in which a harness would lift her above the crowd. Unfortunately, she wasn't properly strapped in and ended up taking a major fall. After being forced to cancel the rest of the show, she was rushed to the hospital and found to have no serious injuries. "Nothing's broken, no fluid in the lungs, just seriously sore," she posted on Twitter. Always the classy type, Pink apologized to her German fans for having to cut the concert short.
The "Margaritaville" singer was wrapping up his concert in Australia in 2011 when he fell into a gap near the end of the stage. Though the fall knocked him out cold and left a gash on his head, he managed to avoid any serious injuries. He was released from the hospital after one day and posted a message on his website to let worried Parrotheads know that he was doing well.
