    Lady Gaga & Justin Bieber To Play Aliens In 'Men In Black III'

    Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber have reached intergalactic levels of fame, but now the pop superstars are reportedly set to play otherworldly creatures on the big screen.

    The chart-topping pair will appear as aliens in "Men in Black III," according to director Barry Sonnenfeld.

    "In this [film] there are a few people that you'll see up on the surveillance board including Lady Gaga, Tim Burton, who probably knows more about aliens then I do, and let's see who else . . . Justin Bieber," Sonnenfeld said in an interview with Collider.com.

    While many celebrities have made cameos in "MiB" installments past (including Steven Spielberg, Danny DeVtio, Sylvester Stallone and Michael Jackson), Sonnenfeld said choosing stars to add to the blockbuster franchise can be tricky for longevity purposes.

    "We've always had in 'Men in Black' headquarters, alien surveillance, so one of the joys is deciding who you would put up on the board, who you would tell the world are aliens," he explained of how he picks celebrities for cameos. "And A) the challenge is you have to get permission from these celebrities and B) you don't want to go with people that are either a flash in the pan, or political, or people that then in 10 years no one will know who you're talking about.

    "So the challenge is getting celebrities that are famous, will give you permission and won't be like, 'Who's that guy?' in 10 years," he added.

    Sonnenfeld did admit he has a secret weapon when it comes to getting stars to sign on - the popularity of franchise star Will Smith and his legions of famous friends.

    "You know we don't like to use that weapon too often," Sonnenfeld told the website. "The hard part is really figuring out the combination of who won't be 'who's that person' in 10 years. But so far we've been pretty luck and people have been kind and interested. I am surprised that Lady Gaga said yes."

    Look for Mother Monster and The Biebs in "Men in Black III" - in theaters on May 25.
