    Lady Gaga Praises Lindsay Lohan's Performance In Liz & Dick; Celebs Pan Film On Twitter

    Lindsay Lohan's performance as Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's "Liz & Dick" was almost universally panned, but Lady Gaga stood against the critics and her fellow celebrities, by praising the actress' performance as "beautiful."

    The "Born This Way" singer Tweeted her friend on Monday, to let her know how impressed she was by Lindsay's acting work as the Dame.

    "You did a beautiful job on Liz & Dick, Let no one bring u down, Liz didnt, they always try to knock the greats down a few pegs," Gaga wrote.

    Unfortunately for the flame-haired actress, other stars were less kind on Twitter with their critiques of her performance as the late Oscar-winning actress.

    Joan Rivers wrote, "Lindsay Lohan's probation will be revoked because she lied to police. The same goes for her SAG card after playing Elizabeth Taylor."

    "Law and Order: SVU" star BD Wong Tweeted, "After shooting, I believe Lindsay Lohan was heard to say, 'OH! I thought it was about Elizabeth BERKLEY!'"

    "Sons of Anarchy" star Donal Logue hoped the ratings from the project would lead to further productions.

    "God I pray #LizandDick is such a ratings success in an ironic way that Lifetime immediately goes into production of #Liz&MJ beyond neverland," he wrote.

    Singer Aimee Mann Tweeted, "I get the feeling the phrase 'It is what it is' was said a lot in the editing room."

    Josh Groban was also moved to Tweet about the film, writing, "OMG during half time I switched to 5 minutes of #LizAndDick and it's so awkwardly made, I feel embarrassed in my no-no place."

    The TV movie was also popular with television show producers and writers.

    Danny Zuker, a co-executive producer of "Modern Family" had fun while watching and Tweeting. Among his comments: "BEST. SCHOOL. PLAY. EVER," and "I haven't seen this much chemistry since Michael Jackson & Lisa Marie."

    "New Girl" showrunner Liz Meriwether Tweeted that she had a giggle at the scene where Lindsay, as Liz, faints.

    "She fainted! Oh my god. I think that was the funniest thing I've seen in TV in a while and I write comedy for television," Liz Tweeted.
