Lakers waive G Johnson-Odom

Guard Darius Johnson-Odom was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers for the second time in less than a year Wednesday.

Johnson-Odom, 24, appeared in four games for the Lakers last season. He did not score any points, pulled down four rebounds and had one assist in six minutes.

Following his release in January, Johnson-Odom played for a team in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He subsequently participated in summer-league games for the Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets.

During the current preseason, the 6-foot-2 guard averaged 3.7 points, 0.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in three games with the Lakers.

Johnson-Odom played his college ball at Marquette, then was the 55th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Johnson-Odom was acquired by the Lakers from the Dallas Mavericks on draft night.
