    Language Students Improve Listening Comprehension with Personal Lexicon 2.0

    Personal Lexicon 2.0 introduces the Audio Library to its long list of features; helping to bring personalized listening exercises to a language student’s study regime.

    Personal Lexicon released a major software update this week that allows students to download custom audio in 1 of 23 languages. Additionally, 3 new audio exercises give students the ability to practice different aspects of listening comprehension.

    Personal Lexicon 2.0 includes many important new features, but the heart of this update lies with the addition of the Audio Library. Using the Audio Library students can attach audio files to lexical items or personal examples. Listening to, importing and managing your audio is all done with just a couple clicks of the mouse. If students don’t have particular audio they want to use then downloading audio is snap with the addition of the Audio Download Service. With 23 languages available, most of the major world languages are easily downloadable. Whether downloading single words or full sentences the audio is good quality. Moreover, new languages continue to be added to the service.

    As a student’s library grows, 3 new aural tests can be used to hone listening comprehension. Each new test focuses on improving the student’s listening skills in different ways. The basic test checks that the student can identify individual words while the context listening test has the student listen to full sentences and fill in the missing parts. A third test asks the student to identify the word from a list of phonetically similar words. All 3 of the new tests complement the 4 existing tests already found in the product.

    Personal Lexicon is language learning software that assists students of virtually any language. Students easily track what they learn in class and are then able to retrieve it effortlessly when needed. The software supports a wide variety of testing features that can be used to create both audio and written exercises.
