ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The Latest on the fatal shooting of an Orlando police officer (all times local):
2:15 p.m.
An arrest affidavit says a suspect in the killing of an Orlando police officer told homicide detectives that the fatal shooting might not have happened if the lieutenant "had waited for backup."
The affidavit filed Friday says that when detectives asked Markeith Loyd about Lt. Debra Clayton's killing, he told them, "She pulled her gun out first."
Clayton approached Loyd last week outside a Wal-Mart store in Orlando after a customer pointed him out as someone wanted in the slaying of his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
The affidavit says Loyd claimed self-defense when asked by detectives about his ex-girlfriend's killing.
The affidavit also says Loyd was wearing a bulletproof vest similar to those used by Orlando officers when he was taken into custody Tuesday after a manhunt that lasted more than a week.

An autopsy shows that an Orlando police officer gunned down outside a Wal-Mart store last week was struck four times and the fatal shot entered the right side of her neck.
An arrest affidavit filed Friday says the bullet from the fatal shot appeared to be impacted by concrete, suggesting that Lt. Debra Clayton was on her back when the fatal shot was fired.
The affidavit says security video shows Markeith Loyd running out of the store and Clayton pursuing him about 10 feet behind.
Loyd then takes cover behind a concrete pillar and fires at Clayton, striking and fracturing her hip.
The affidavit says Loyd approached Clayton, stood over her and fired at her, while the officer fired back seven times.
Clayton had approached Loyd after a Wal-Mart customer identified him to the officer as a suspect wanted in the killing of his girlfriend.

A day after an expletive-laced court appearance on charges he killed his pregnant ex-girlfriend, a fugitive was more subdued but still interrupted a judge when he went before her on five new charges filed against him in the death of Orlando police officer.
Markeith Loyd interrupted Judge Jeanette Bigney several times Friday to ask her to state her name. But the judge kept talking and set no bond for him.
During an initial hearing Thursday on charges related to his ex-girlfriend's death, Loyd went on a profanity-laced rant that ended when he said "f---you" to the judge.
Lt. Debra Clayton was gunned down Jan. 9 while attempting to capture Loyd. Loyd's former girlfriend, Sade Dixon, was fatally shot at her home last month.

A day after an expletive-laced court appearance on charges he killed his pregnant ex-girlfriend, a fugitive is due in court again in Florida to face five new charges filed against him in the death of an Orlando police officer.
The latest charges against 41-year-old Markeith Loyd include first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer and wearing a bullet-proof vest. His initial appearance is scheduled Friday morning.
During an initial hearing Thursday on charges related to his ex-girlfriend's death, Loyd went on a profanity-laced rant that ended when he said "f---you" to Judge Jeanette Dejuras Bigney. He also said he plans to represent himself.
Lt. Debra Clayton was gunned down Jan. 9 while attempting to capture Loyd. In December, Sade Dixon was fatally shot at her home.
Loyd, who was injured and hospitalized after his Tuesday night arrest, says he didn't resist officers' commands.
