    Lawyers want to show Jackson press conference

    LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lawyers for the doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death moved Tuesday to show jurors at the upcoming trial footage of a news conference in which the singer spoke of performing in only 10 shows during his "This Is It" concert run.

    In a motion filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Conrad Murray's attorneys said they want to show the audio-visual recording of Jackson's news conference to support testimony that he was not physically capable of doing the 50 shows to which he eventually agreed.

    Jackson appeared at the 02 Arena in London on March 5, 2009, to announce his widely heralded tour.

    "At the press conference, Mr. Jackson informs the crowd that these 10 shows will be his 'final show performances' and that this was the 'final curtain call," said the document filed by defense attorney Nareg Gourjian.

    "Mr. Jackson reiterates to the crowd that, 'When I say this is it, it really means this is it."

    In little more than three months, Jackson was dead of an overdose of the anesthetic propofol. The rehearsals for his lavishly produced concert became the basis of a posthumous concert movie, "This Is It."

    The motion said jurors would be able to see Jackson's mental and physical condition. The defense suggests the star was in frail health and was stressed out by the prospect of performing in 50 shows.

    They said the recorded news conference will corroborate testimony from Jackson's makeup artist, Karen Faye, that Jackson was furious when he learned he would be doing 50 shows.

    "Mr. Jackson told Ms. Faye, 'It wasn't supposed to be this way. This is not what it was supposed to be. Why can't I choose?'" the motion said.

    Lawyers for Murray have said the insomniac Jackson was contemplating calling off the tour if he could not get sleep. Murray told police he was giving Jackson the anesthetic propofol as a sleeping aid. Jackson died of an overdose of the drug June 25, 2009, at his rented Holmby Hills mansion.

    Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter. His trial begins Friday with jury selection.

      There is absolutely no indication for propofol in the outpatient setting. This is clearly malpractice and negligence by this physician and he should lose his medical license permanantly.

      This doctor is guilty of administering a drug outside of proper protocol and he has to pay for that. As a result of his negligence and severly poor judgement a human being died. We expect members of our medical community to make better decisions on our behalf despite what we ourselves may want. The doctor was obviously motivated by money and it caught up with him. Unfortunately someone had to die in the process.

      I have seen that press conference a thousand times and Michael NEVER mentioned that he was only doing 10 shows. He was dressed in his Black Satin Outfit and did NOT look frail and he was in total exuberation mode along with the crowds about this up and coming celebration of shows. He made it clear that after these shows He would no longer be doing such elaborate shows (SO WHAT). At some point most entertainters tone their shows down or some even stop performing altogether. Murray's lawyers are really a pathetic bunch. I don't care if MJ's skeleton was speaking at the press conference that day, it still HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MURRAY ADMINISTERING MULTIPLE DRUGS PLUS PROPOFOL TO "HIS" PATIENT UNTIL HIS PATIENT DIED. This idea of how frail he looked or what drugs he took in his past life and all the rest of this #$%$ the blatant fact is Michael Jackson was alive until he was given propofol on June 25, 2009 by the one man in that he thought he could trust with his life DR. CONRAD MURRAY and that is the one man whom as we all know now MJ shouldn't have trusted. Michael Jackson had no idea that he would die that day and I'm sure if he had the choice he never would have wanted to. I'm also sure Conrad Murray wouldn't want to trade places with Michael, because he can't handle the fact that he might do ONLY 4 YEARS OR LESS.

      SONY knows MJ was not going to win any new fans or recover from the child sex accusations. They had him killed so they could reap the benefits of a rush to purchase MJ music and items

      Well, if Murray wouldn't have complied with Jackson's wishes to administer the propofol he would've found someone else. He should've called the ambulance much earlier, though.

        Saying that another doctor could have done the same thing does not absolve Dr. Murray from negligence and the death of his patient. And he also did not tell the paramedics that Jackson had propofol in his system so they could treat him accordingly and he did not call paramedics in a timely manner. He is absolutely responsible even if he "shares" responsibilty with Jackson.

        I'm not disputing that. My point was that Michael had a way to get what he wanted and it was definitely him who wanted the propofol knowing perfectly well what it can do to him. He would've run into problems sooner or later.

      As for Karen Faye how do we know that she's telling the truth?
