Leaked photos of fully assembled iPhone 6s confirm one of the worst things about it

Apple won’t make the iPhone 6s even slimmer than its predecessors, a new leak suggests, seemingly confirming previous reports that suggested the 2015 iOS smartphone will be slightly bigger and thicker than last year’s models.

Photos posted by MacRumors show assembled iPhone 6s units being measured. Apparently, the devices have been constructed using parts available in the wild – which were shown in many leaks before – though the devices aren’t functional.

According to these images, the iPhone 6s is 7.08mm thick, or almost 2mm thicker than the iPhone 6s. The iPhone 6s Plus is supposedly 7.3mm thick, also 0.2mm thicker than its predecessor.

The new iPhones are also slightly bigger when it comes to height and width, at 138.19 x 67.68mm – the iPhone 6’s corresponding measurements are 138.1 x 67mm.

A recent report from the same tech blog said that one particular iPhone 6s feature might be responsible for a slight increase in thickness – Force Touch, which requires extra display components including sensors and chip to register differences in touch pressure.
