    Lebanese man killed by bullet fired from Syria

    BEIRUT (AP) — Lebanese officials say a man was killed by a bullet coming from the Syrian side of the border.

    The officials say Lebanese citizen Hassan Obeid, 17, died in a clinic where he was rushed after being hit in the stomach in his northern hometown of Bkarha near the border with Syria.

    The officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to talk to the press.

    Several Lebanese and Syrian citizens have been killed in border areas in Lebanon since an uprising against Syrian President Bashar Assad began in March.

    More than 5,000 Syrians have fled to Lebanon during 10 months of unrest and crackdown in which more than 5,000 people have been killed.

      Time for a reality check, Western press. The vaulted nations of Lebanon and Syria were both created by the British and the French in the 1920's and in spite of the cries of nationalism coming out of both areas, it is all a lot of nonsense. Many Syrians claim Lebanon as part of Syria because the French created a country in Lebanon to protect the Lebanese Maronite Christians. People cross the border between Lebanon and Syria because they are related to each other, as they do between Turkey and Syria when that large of of territory revolted against Syria and joined up with Turkey. That's the way things work in the Middle East and has now become a story because the borders are closing. . Of course, many people blame Israel for all the troubles in this part of the world...mostly people who have blinkers on their eyes and don't see reality for what it truly is.

      Syrian army is going to need to go into Lebanon to find the dens of CIA spies, cut throats, and militants. These are the same that caused the chaos in Libya.

        Oh, and the intolerable dictatorship and the tribal rivalries in Libya didn't have anything to do with it, right? Do you really think that the CIA has anything to gain by overthrowing a dictatorship in Syria only to have it replaced by another form of government which probably wouldn't be any more friendly to the West? Get a grip on reality, pal.
