Lebanon Police say dead body found in burning car Sunday morning

Lebanon police are investigating what they're calling a suspicious death.

According to a release from the city, officers responded to a vehicle fire in the back parking lot of 1140 Millcreek Road about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Firefighters were able to gain control and extinguish the fire, and during their initial investigation, a deceased body was found inside, the release says.

The Lebanon Police Department and the Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office are leading the investigation and will consider it a suspicious death pending an autopsy.

Officials have yet to identify the body, but are working on developing leads.
