Leo's Fortune review

In Leo's Fortune, a beautifully crafted, story-driven platformer, you must track down the cunning thief who stole your fortune through some of the most beautiful game levels you've seen so far on Android. You play as the round and fuzzy Leopold, a character who will stay with you long after you've discovered the secret of his stolen fortune.

Pros

Charming story and charismatic hero: Together with the gorgeous graphics and fluent, lag-free gameplay, Leo's Fortune charms you with its main protagonist, the round and fuzzy Leopold, a rich inventor whose fortune has been mysteriously stolen and who goes in search of it, following the trail of coins the thief has left behind. The excellent voice acting and Leopold's reactions to the game world and his remarks about his quest are hilarious.

Wonderful levels and game world: The hand-crafted game world combines delightful textures with beautiful lighting and smooth animations, impressing with its sheer beauty. Whether you jump your way through lush forests, hurry through arid deserts, or climb snowy mountains, the beauty of the graphics and the amusing physics-based puzzles will warm your heart.

Lag-free, intuitive controls: Whether you use hand gestures or onscreen buttons to guide Leopold to find the truth about his stolen fortune, the controls for moving and jumping are wonderfully smooth and responsive, more so than in any other platformer we've tried so far on Android.

Cons

Not optimized for all devices: While the game ran flawlessly on a Nexus 7 tablet, it was glitchy and even crashed on the Samsung smartphone.

Could be longer: The game stretches across 24 levels, which become progressively harder, but overall it's a fairly easy platformer, so that you can complete it in a matter of days.

Bottom Line

Nothing less than a masterpiece, Leo's Fortune stands out as one of the best platformers the mobile gaming world has seen so far, a game with outstanding graphics, a charming story, and a character worthy to become a classic.
