LG G3 is a smash hit in South Korea, selling 100,000 units in less than a week

LG G3 coming to Verizon on July 17th, preorder now for $99

Just five days after the G3′s May 28th release in South Korea, LG had already sold 100,000 units, the fastest opening week sales of any smartphone is LG’s history. Korea IT Times reports that the daily sales volume has been estimated at 20,000 to 30,000 units. As a point of reference, the G2 was estimated to have sold less than 10,000 units per day when it launched last year.

According to the report, some of the factors behind the explosive sales include LG’s aggressive marketing campaign and the spec sheet of the phone itself. The G3 has some of the most impressive specs of any Android smartphone ever released, with a 5.5-inch, 2560 x 1440 Quad HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The 13-megapixel rear camera is also equipped with laser autofocus, allowing you to take pictures as quickly as you can tap the screen.

The news of the LG’s most recent achievement comes just days after a report revealed that G3 domestic sales have been crushing the Galaxy S5. If LG can maintain this momentum, the international launch could be significantly more successful than that of the G2 last August.
