A Day at the Movies

If your mom is the ultimate movie lover, spend Mother’s Day at the theater.

A “Mamma Mia!” showing will occur at Los Angeles State Historic Park on Friday, May 10. The Rooftop Cinema Club DTLA will show “Everything Everywhere All at Once” on Mother’s Day.

In West Hollywood, the Hammer Museum will also show the classic “Bringing Up Baby” on Mother’s Day.

If your mom would rather spend the day outdoors, the Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, the South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes Peninsula, The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, and the Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton all will be open.

If possible, it’s recommended that you purchase advance tickets. It’s also important to note that the Huntington will also require a reservation.

Monterey Park will be celebrating its 108th birthday until May 12. The event includes free admission and live entertainment. Carnival rides and food will be available at an additional cost.
