Lions WR Johnson questionable vs. Browns
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is expected to be a game-day decision for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns due to the swollen knee that sidelined him last week.
Johnson took part in limited practice for the second consecutive day Friday and was officially listed as questionable. Lions coach Jim Schwartz said earlier this week that the team is taking a long-term approach with Johnson's knee and won't push him into the lineup until his knee is healthy enough to go.
The Browns have the NFL's fourth-ranked defense and are ninth in points allowed. Through five games, opposing quarterbacks have two touchdown passes and a 57.9 completion percentage.
Johnson has 21 receptions for 312 yards and four touchdowns. The team's top wide receiver in terms of catches without Johnson is Kris Durham (eight).
--TE Tony Scheffler (concussion) has been ruled out. It's his third concussion in four years. His absence leaves just two tight ends available, Brandon Pettigrew and rookie Joseph Fauria.
--RB Theo Riddick (concussion) has been ruled out.
--CB Chris Houston (hamstring) got in limited work Friday and is probable.
--RT Jason Fox (knee) remains unable to practice and is doubtful. Corey Hilliard will start in his place.
